About Event

The Japanese Cultural Festival (JCF) and Japanese Cultural Night (JCN) are events organized annually by the NUS Japanese Studies Society, as part of our efforts to promote and encourage the appreciation of Japanese culture.

In the day, experience the feeling of walking through a matsuri (festival) at JCF while visiting the various booths lined up along NUS UTown Plaza! Try your hand at traditional matsuri activities, pick up intricate Japanese trinkets, expand your knowledge of traveling in Japan, and when it’s time to take a break, drop by our food booths to have a quick snack while admiring performances held at the mini-stage!

After a wholesome day of activities, it’s finally time to relax with JCN at UTown Auditorium 2. Prepare yourself for a night of excitement as you go through a multitude of performances spanning across a range of genres; from graceful traditional performances to pumped-up modern ones.

This year's theme for JCF&N 2019 is 旅, meaning “Journey” in Japanese. As we walk you through the various activities , we hope to be able to contribute to your own journey in exploring and enjoying Japanese culture – be it the start of a new journey, or the extension of an existing one.
